Healthy Lifestyle: No motivation in the mornings?

10 tips for that much-needed routine revamp

If you wake up feeling lethargic and rundown, you may wonder how you will get through the day ahead. Starting your morning off in the right way can give you the motivation and boost you need. With that in mind, here are 10 tips for that much-needed routine revamp.

Tips for morning routines - wellbeing

Meditate

As you wake up, you are yet to encounter the daily stresses and challenges that inevitably occur in daily life. To get in the right frame of mind, taking 15 minutes to meditate can do wonders for your mental wellbeing.

Exercise

Morning exercise wakes up your entire body and will rev up your metabolism for whatever is on the agenda. Working out in the morning will give you fewer distractions, increase energy levels, and help you be more alert.

Eat a Healthy Breakfast

The foods you put into your body can be the difference between being motivated and feeling rundown. Starting your day off right with a healthy breakfast packed with vitamins and nutrients will increase your motivation and keep your blood sugar levels under control.

Create Goals

Mapping out your day from the moment you wake up will give you something to work towards. Creating small, achievable goals will give you a sense of accomplishment and give you the drive to succeed.

Get a Good Night’s Sleep

To feel motivated in the morning, it’s crucial that you get a good night’s sleep beforehand. Waking up feeling ready for anything will boost concentration levels and help you excel.

Don’t Snooze

When the alarm bell rings, it can be all too easy to switch the snooze button. Instead, it’s best to climb out of bed and get ready for the day ahead. Another 10 minutes in bed won’t do you any favors, so rather than leaving everything to the last minute, forcing yourself to get up can help you be more motivated.

Remember Your ‘Why’

When waking up, it’s important to remind yourself why you have planned out your day. If you don’t feel fulfilled or inspired by what takes up a large portion of your life, it may be time to think about leaving your current occupation in favor of one that will make a positive difference to your life.

Drink Lemon Water

There are numerous health benefits that you can gain from drinking lemon water. Alongside fighting off colds, lemon water can promote weight loss and boost your immune system. Pouring a nice, cold glass to get your day off to a good start will wake your body up and get you excited for the day ahead.

Switch Up Your Routine

Many of us get stuck in a rut and follow the same routine day in day out. If you feel it’s time for something different, why not take a different route to the office, or eat something out of your comfort zone for lunch.

Use Mantras

Thinking positive thoughts will help you feel more motivated in the morning, so saying a couple of mantras and inspirational quotes will make you think more positively and inspire you when you feel discouraged.

Whether a long day at the office awaits, or you have daily errands to perform, all the tips listed above can change your mindset for the better, giving you the motivational boost to get through the day.
